Special Olympics Sports at SAADHYA

Sports play an important role in the overall development and confidence-building of children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) at SAADHYA. The school actively promotes participation in Special Olympics sports programs, providing regular training and opportunities for students to compete at state, national, and international levels.

SAADHYA has achieved remarkable success in international competitions. Three students from the institution represented India at the Special Olympics World Games held in Abu Dhabi, where they won 9 medals for the nation in the disciplines of powerlifting and cycling. In recognition of their outstanding achievement, the athletes were awarded a cash prize of ₹15 lakhs by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

In addition to international participation, more than 25 students from SAADHYA have participated in Special Olympics National Championships held across various states in India. The students competed in multiple sports disciplines including powerlifting, athletics, cycling, bocce, handball, throwball, and softball throw.

Through structured sports training and participation in competitions, SAADHYA encourages students to develop physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, confidence, and a spirit of achievement, enabling them to showcase their talents at national and international platforms.
