The Beginning of Our Journey
Registered the Saadhya Trust for Social Development at Madikeri.
In September, launched the school branch at Hassan, followed by the Hosapete branch in October.
Preparing for Independent Living
Eight children were selected for the Special Olympics National Championship, winning medals across basketball, powerlifting, cycling, floor hockey, floorball, bocce, and athletics.
Three athletes and one coach were selected as probables for the 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi for powerlifting and cycling.
Introduced Vocational Training programs, including BPO training, candle making, and paper bag production.
Special Olympics World Summer Games
Three athletes and one coach successfully advanced to the final probable selection for the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi.
Pride on the International Stage
Total admissions reached 155 students (119 in Hosapete and 36 in Hassan).
Three students (two in powerlifting, one in cycling), one powerlifting coach, and the Founder of Saadhya (serving as Assistant Head of the Indian Delegation) participated in the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi.
The athletes won a total of 9 medals for the nation (2 silver in powerlifting, 1 silver in cycling, and 6 bronze in powerlifting) and were awarded a ₹15 Lakhs cash prize by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Strengthening Sustainability Through Government Grants
Total admissions increased to 160 students (124 in Hosapete and 36 in Hassan).
Both the Hassan and Hosapete schools began receiving government aid under the child-centric (CC) grant for a limited number of children from the Department for Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens, Government of Karnataka.
COVID-19
Strengthened organizational processes to manage COVID-19 relief, successfully implementing teleconsulting, meal distribution, and dry ration kit distribution.
Organized a special vaccination drive tailored for persons with disabilities and their caregivers.
Advancing Organizational Excellence
Enrolled in the Dhwani Foundation’s “Nirantara-2” cohort and Shakti - The Empathy Project for overall organizational development. As a result, the organization's compliance score improved from 53% to 94.68%.
Inducted a new board member to strengthen governance.
Recognition of Our Work
The Board decided to establish a permanent facility in Hosapete and successfully secured a 30-year land lease from HUDA, Hosapete.
Launched an Early Intervention Project in the Hosapete Taluk in association with APD-Bangalore.
Recognized as one of the "Top 10 Most Trusted NGOs of the Year" at the India CSR Awards.
Honoured with the N.S. Hema Memorial Award, which included a cash prize of ₹1 Lakh.
Building Dreams Brick by Brick
Intiated the school building construction on a new school building with a project cost of ₹7 Crores, designed to accommodate 500 children.
Received the Karnataka State Award as the "Best Institution in the State" from the Department for Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens, Government of Karnataka.
Ms. Lanchana, a student from the Saadhya Hosapete center, successfully transitioned into mainstream employment.
A Dream Built Together
Launched an Early Intervention Project in association with the Azim Premji Foundation.
Expanded operations by starting two sub-centers in the Hosapete Taluk: Mariyammanahalli and Kamalapura.
Completed construction of the new Hosapete school building and officially inaugurated it.
Welcomed a new advisory member to the Trust.
Partnered with craftisen foundation and introduced organic Holi colour as part of our vocational Training
