Lanchana H.L. joined Saadhya Residential Special School and Vocational Training Centre Hassan on 5 June 2017 after facing significant academic, social, behavioural, and physical challenges. She had difficulty interacting with others, managing emotions, learning independently, and performing certain daily activities due to weakness in her left hand and leg.
Through seven years of structured education, vocational training, and continuous support from teachers and her family, Lanchana made remarkable progress. She developed functional literacy in Kannada and English, practical mathematics and money management skills, and became more confident in communication and social interactions. She actively participated in sports, cultural programmes, and Special Olympics, earning recognition for her achievements.
Her emotional and behavioural development was equally significant. She became more independent, responsible, and cooperative both at school and at home, demonstrating improved confidence and positive relationships with others.
Recognizing her skills and work readiness, Sai Export employed Lanchana on 1 April 2024, where she has been working successfully. Her journey reflects how early intervention, individualized education, vocational training, and strong family involvement can empower persons with disabilities to achieve independence and meaningful employment.
