The project commenced following the approval of the MoU between APF and Saadhya on 26 February 2025 with the moto Early detection and care will lead to better future. A multidisciplinary team was recruited, trained, and deployed from 1 April 2025. To identify children with disability between the age group 0 to 8 Years in both urban and rural areas of Hosapete Taluka.
Community screening was conducted through PHCs, CHCs, GHCs, schools, villages, and household visits in collaboration with the Departments of Health, Women and Child Development, Education, DDWO, Taluka Panchayat, and RBSK.
The programme improved early identification and access to rehabilitation services. More than 100 children are receiving services through the two sub-centres, with additional children supported at the Hosapete main centre. 64 children received aids and appliances. 53 children are receiving home-based services
The project will continue community screening, strengthen rehabilitation services, promote parent training, facilitate medical referrals and assistive devices, support inclusive education, and expand collaboration with government departments to reach additional talukas and districts in Karnataka.
The project established an MIS, digital documentation through Goonjan software, and operational systems, while setting up two sub-centres at Mariyammanahalli and Kamalapura to strengthen community-based service delivery.
